Small Dog Jumping Big for Great Cause

Small Dog Jumping Big for Great Cause

SANTA BARBARA, CA - OCTOBER 23, 2014 - Santa Barbara resident, dock-diving pooch, and reigning Super Retriever Series Mini Fly Crown Champion, Tantrum! (the Jack Russell Terrier), will return to the Super Retriever Series Crown Championship on November 1st in Huntsville, Alabama to defend his title.

He is jumping in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and collecting pledges for “Helping Kelli Heal,” a fundraiser to benefit Kelli Bailey, a Huntsville resident currently battling breast cancer away from her family, out here in California.

Long time Santa Barbara residents Steve and Loren Shepard have three dogs who compete regionally in dock diving events, but their littlest, Tantrum! (yes, his name does include an exclamation point), particularly excels in the sport.

Last year, Tantrum qualified to receive an invitation to compete in the first ever Mini Fly Crown Championship in Huntsville, Alabama, so he packed his bags (and packed himself in a bag to be stowed under the seat), and flew out to compete! He won the crown last year and returns to defend it this year.

If you would like to pledge a donation to “Helping Kelli Heal,” please visit Tantrum’s public Facebook page for details on how to do that. Guess how far you think the little guy can jump and pledge a dollar amount per foot of his best jump in the final round of competition!
