Lane Farms Celebrates Two Anniversaries
Santa Barbara, California – September 19, 2014 – 75 years of business at their landmark produce stand and 40 years of peddling fun and pumpkins at their pumpkin patch are reason to celebrate according to Ruth & John Lane, owners of the family farm that has been in business since 1868.
The Lane Family opened the produce stand at 308 S. Walnut Lane in 1939. Once known as the Greenstand (now Lane Farms) it has sustainably endured many changes in the community and serves up a bit of history with each visit to the homey farm stand… along with delicious homegrown sweetcorn, strawberries, tomatoes and much more!
Lane Farms Pumpkin Patch began in 1974 and quickly became a wonderful fall tradition for young and old alike. “Joe the Scarecrow”, a patch resident, has watched many children in the community grow up and marvels that now those same kids are bringing their own children and grandchildren to the patch! After simple beginnings the patch now offers hayrides, corn maze and lots of farm fun.
Saturday, September 27th Lane Farms will celebrate the 40th & 75th anniversaries.
Lane Farms Pumpkin Patch will open for the season that day and Lane Farms Produce Stand will offer its Fresh Picked Sweet Corn that day (while supplies last) at some old fashioned prices.
Both the Pumpkin Patch and Produce Stand are located at 308 S. Walnut Lane, Santa Barbara and will open at 9am. The produce stand is open daily 9am-6pm, Sun 9am-5pm. The pumpkin patch will be open daily Sept 27 – Oct 30, 9am – 9pm; Oct 31 9am – 5pm
