On Thursday, April 30th Salt’s Cure will be teaming up with Scribe Winery to offer a tasting menu as part of Mattei’s Tavern’s Winemaker Dinner Series in the Santa Ynez Valley.
Located in West Hollywood, Salt’s Cure is an L.A. testament to sustainable, farm-to-table cooking. Proudly sourcing ingredients grown and raised in California, Chef Owners Chris Phelps and Zak Walters carefully butcher each farm raised animal in-house and remain dedicated to crafting a revolving menu that supports the local community by featuring products found within six hours of the restaurant.
Chefs Phelps and Walters utilize locally sourced ingredients expertly crafted to complement the presented wines. The menu incorporates seafood from Santa Barbara, beef from Stemple Creek Farms and quail from Marin Sun Farms, both in Marin County, and produce from Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties.
“The menu is a version of ingredients we use at Salt’s Cure but in a different format,” says Walters. “Scribe’s wines pair well because they are focused the same way our food is. We both use the ingredient as our main expression.”
Scribe Winery produces vibrant-terrior driven wines from Sonoma Valley, California. Fourth generation farmers and brothers, Andrew and Adam Mariani believe that the best wines are a result of a healthy relationship between man and nature, and that a vineyard managed in harmony with the greater ecosystem results in more site-specific wines and represent a sense of place.
Guests will enjoy Scribe’s 2014 Rose of Pinot Noir upon arrival, followed by a tasting menu including:
Raw Yellowtail Snapper
Pickled beet puree and radish
Scribe Sylvaner 2014
Artichoke Croquettes with Lemon Vinaigrette
Scribe Skin Contact Chardonnay 2013
Crab, Chilled Asparagus & Celery Salad
