Cox 8’s Community Connections Previews the 91st Old Spanish Day’s Fiesta

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – July 31, 2015 – As Santa Barbara residents and visitors prepare for the 91st Old Spanish Day’s Fiesta, Cox 8’s Community Connection provides a sneak peek into one of city’s premier festivals. Through Aug. 9, Cox 8 is airing informative interviews with some of the event’s organizers and partners.

“Old Spanish Day’s Fiesta is one of Santa Barbara’s beloved traditions,” said Kirsten McLaughlin, Public Affairs manager, Cox Communication. “It is important for us and other local businesses to support our communities and celebrations.”

Featured guests will share the festival’s background and history and preview some of its events:
El Presidente Cas Stimson and his wife Dr. Kathleen Mclintock discuss the event’s “Fiesta Romantica” theme.
Segunda Vice Presidente Rhonda Ledson Henderson, Old Spanish Days in Santa Barbara, Inc. provides an overview of this year’s celebrations.
Executive Director Lynn Brittner and Director of Research Michael Redmon from the Santa Barbara Historical Museum provide its history.
CEO Rick Block, Santa Barbara Zoo and special guest “Turtle” highlights the zoo’s longtime involvement with Fiesta and the beloved Los Dignatarios event.
