The Santa Barbara Wine Collective Presents ‘Pop-Up Brunch’ with Les Marchands Chef Weston Richards on Sunday, August 30

WHAT:
The Santa Barbara Wine Collective presents the next installment of their “Pop-Up Brunch” series on Sunday, August 30, 2015 featuring next door neighbor guest Chef Weston Richards of Les Marchands Wine Bar & Merchant in the Funk Zone of Santa Barbara, California. Each month a local guest chef presents an original menu that will be paired with a selection of hand-picked stellar wines from Santa Barbara Wine Collective members Babcock, Ca’ Del Grevino, Fess Parker, Sandhi and The Paring.

With a world class team in food and wine, Les Marchands has received numerous accolades since opening in August 2013. Chef Weston meets the challenge of pairing great wines with great foods – along with his conviction that when quality meets execution the simplest dishes aspire to greatness.

Tickets for “Pop-Up Brunch” are $63, all-inclusive of menu, beverages, taxes and gratuity. “Pop-Up Brunch” tickets will be offered on Eventbrite at www.lesmarchandsbrunch.eventbrite.com or by calling the Collective directly at 805.456.2700.

ABOUT The Santa Barbara Wine Collective:
The Santa Barbara Wine Collective is a group of like-minded producers focusing on the unique terroir of Santa Barbara County. Each winery produces wines of elegance and balance while representing a true sense of place. We feature premium wines, most of which are rarely found outside of the estate properties. As the only tasting room in Santa Barbara County where you can soon taste wines from six different producers side by side, you will learn how different styles, climates and soil compositions directly impact the characteristics of each wine. All of these wines are available in tasting flights, by the glass, and by the bottle.

ABOUT Chef Weston Richards
Growing up in Hemet, California, Weston might have caught the “cooking bug” from his best friend’s dad, who was a professional chef. He began his training at the California School of Culinary Arts in Pasadena. One Le Cordon Bleu Diploma, an AOS in Culinary Arts and several other hospitality certifications later, Weston returned to Santa Barbara to make his mark. From Sage and Onion to Julienne, to his current home in the kitchen of Les Marchands Wine Bar & Merchant, Chef Weston has found an ideal environment for self-expression. At Les Marchands, he creates a diverse seasonal menu of wine-friendly foods – house-pickled farmer’s market vegetables; smoked local mussels with extra virgin olive oil and garlic; house-made charcuterie with accoutrements and specials that feature local uni with guacamole and tortilla chips; his popular 3 little pigs sandwich of country ham, pork belly, bacon on baguette; wine-pairing dinner menus, signature ramen and summer barbeques.
