Santa Barbara, Calif.– Renowned Chef Michael Mina of The Michael Mina Group will be the guest chef for the 2016 Santa Barbara Wine Auction, slated for Saturday, March 12 at the Bacara Resort and Spa in Goleta. This biennial auction hosted by the Santa Barbara Vintners Foundation benefits Direct Relief, a Goleta based medical relief organization that provides medical supplies and services nationally as well as internationally. Chef Mina of the Michael Mina Group will oversee the evening’s four course dinner for 600 guests.

A James Beard Award winning chef, Michael Mina is renowned for his innovative twists on classic dishes and his focus on balance of flavors. Since 2000, the Santa Barbara Vintners Foundation has donated more than $3.5 million to Direct Relief. Among other efforts, the Foundation’s funding helped launch Direct Relief USA, now the largest charitable pharmaceuticals program in the United States and the only one operating in all 50 States.
