Los Alamos, Santa Barbara County, California— Recently, representatives of the Los Alamos Valley Men’s Club (LAVMC) presented a $5,000 donation check to People Helping People. The donation was designated to provide Christmas gifts and food specifically for needy Los Alamos families this holiday season. LAVMC Vice-President Carole Bloom remarked, “We are grateful to be able to make this donation now so that Los Alamos families can have staples, toiletries and gifts to make this season a bit brighter. We know People Helping People works year-round to aid struggling families. We want to help support them to support others especially this month. ”
Founded in 1946, the Los Alamos Valley Men’s Club (LAVMC) is a philanthropic 501(C)3 not-for-profit group of men, women and families dedicated to providing scholarships and funding to local students and support for Los Alamos youth and families. The spacious clubhouse located at 420 Leslie Street is available for rent for private events. The Club is supported by tax-deductible donations from individuals, families, businesses and sponsors events including Los Alamos Old Days Celebration on the last weekend of September as well as hosting fundraisers throughout the year.
Founded in 1992, People Helping People is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of men, women, and children in the Santa Ynez Valley, Los Alamos, and surrounding communities by addressing emergency and basic needs, furnishing comprehensive integrated family and individual support services, and acting as a catalyst for positive community change.
