SAN MARCOS HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI FOUNDATION THEATER GROUP RETURNS WITH ALL-ALUMNI CAST OF MONTY PYTHON’S “SPAMALOTAT SAN MARCOS HIGH SCHOOL THEATER AUDITORIUM

Following 2014’s sold-out engagements, the San Marcos High School Alumni Theater Group (SMHSAFTG) reunites and returns with Monty Python’s smash-hit comedic musical “Spamalot,” in its San Marcos High School Theater engagement.
Based on the 1975 comedic film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot is the fresh Broadway hit and irreverent parody of the Arthurian legend, with book and lyrics by Eric Idle, and music by John du Prez. It was nominated for 14 Tony Awards, winning three, including Best New Musical for 2005. The production will take place on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 7:30pm and Saturday, June 27, 2015, also at 7:30pm.
Leading the cast in the role of King Arthur is Brian Wankum (’87), whom audiences will remember from his memorable turn as Dr. Frank N. Furter in 2014’s production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, is joined by an all-star alumni cast including Jamie Chamberlin [‘96] - as The Lady of the Lake; Kurt Robbins [’95] – as Sir Galahad, Kelli Martony-Doering [‘01] - as Brave Sir Robin, Natalie Padrick Rodrigue [‘93] - as Patsy, Matt Doohan [‘11] - as Sir Lancelot d/b/a Lance, Sean Jackson [‘01] - as Not Dead Fred; Ainsley Gionfriddo [‘99] - as the Mayor, David Holmes [Director Emeritus, 1988-2014] – as Sir Not Appearing, and Willy Voigt [’92] - as The Voice of God.
The play is directed by Ainsley Gionfriddo.
The engagement is produced by Kelli Martony-Doering in association with The San Marcos High School Alumni Foundation.
