Joining him in moving up the ranks within the organization is Jonathan Strommen, a former Tasting Room Manager who will now step into the role of Southern California Sales Representative.
Osuna, who also had a successful stint at Epic Wines, as a Fine Wine Specialist, and called on key accounts including, Mina Group, Gary Danko, Fleur de Lys, One Market, Boulevard, Zuni, Jardinière, The Carnelian Room and Ritz Carlton, and sat on tasting panels with Jon Bonne, formerly of the San Francisco Chronicle, will now direct his attention towards consumer education and hospitality, “I’ve built a reputation for seeking out new and exciting wines from around the world. My focus is on artisan-quality wines that are true to their individual terroir,” says Osuna.
He adds, “Not only do I know and connect with the people behind the Fess Parker wine portfolio, I also am tied closely to the actual vineyard sources, vinification and elevage; all crucial elements that contribute to the final product. My goal is to share my comprehensive knowledge of wine & enrich the lives of both wine connoisseurs and novices.”
Osuna will oversee consumer education and hospitality at various Fess Parker holdings, including the Epiphany Tasting Room in Los Olivos, California, the Fess Parker Winery & Vineyards, on the Foxen Canyon Corridor of Santa Ynez Valley, the Santa Barbara Wine Collective’s Fess Parker stall in the Santa Barbara Funk Zone, and an emerging tasting platform at the Fess Parker Resort on the waterfront in downtown Santa Barbara.
Jonathan Strommen, who was for years behind the tasting room bar at Fess Parker Winery, and later, at the Epiphany Tasting Room, will take his talents on the road to the Southland of California, where the Central South Coast and the Southland will be his territory. “I was born and raised in Santa Barbara County Wine Country and have more than 16 years of experience in the food and wine industry, beginning at the age of 16,working in local restaurants as a waiter. Eventually, in 2006, I landed a job at Fess Parker as Tasting Room Consultant that changed my life. I was lucky enough to meet and talk with Fess Parker when he was still alive and found his story to be very inspirational and motivating. I’m looking forward to sharing some of those experiences and our wines, with accounts in the Southland,” says Strommen.
