Solvang, Santa Ynez Valley, California—Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital (SYVCH) hosted its free 33rd annual Health Fair from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at the Santa Ynez Valley Marriott Hotel in Buellton. More than 1,000 people of all ages attended the event that distributed 365 free flu shots by the hospital’s registered nurses, featured 45 exhibitors and display booths, prize giveaways and delicious heart-healthy refreshments; as well as free information about SYVCH departments including Advanced Imaging, Nutrition, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and other services offered at the hospital located at 2050 Viborg Road in Solvang.

Staff from Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital’s Trauma Services, with the assistance of the SYVCH Emergency Room staff, fitted safety helmets for children and adults for only $10 (a $40-$70 value). Cardiac Rehabilitation department staff performed 70 free blood pressure checks.

The Health Fair is staffed by volunteers from SYVCH, the SYVCH Auxiliary and the SYVCH Foundation board; all coordinated and hosted by the Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the hospital.
