Alan Enriquez, a defender on the La Esperanza SB U14 soccer team,
is one of 48 boys from throughout the United States invited to participate in the U15 U.S. Soccer Boys National Team training camp, held this week in Carson, California. Alan is an eighth grader at La Cumbre Junior High School, and serves as the captain of
his soccer team. His coach, Rick Rodriguez, says that he is thrilled that Alan has been asked to participate in the camp. “Alan is a pleasure to coach, always listening and never complaining. He is an inspiration to his team and I hope he is an inspiration
to his community. Alan’s story is proof that every kid can accomplish what he sets his mind to.”
Alan’s team, La Esperanza SB, plays in the highly competitive California
Regional League. Alan has also played with the Olympic Development Program team for his age group. He is now hoping to be selected as one of the final 20 players who will comprise the U15 Boys National Team. If he makes the team, he can expect to play with
them for the next two years, representing our country in international competition.
