Longtime Montecito resident David Carpenter to Retire as Head of UniHealth Fdn.

LOS ANGELES, CA – October 5, 2015 - UniHealth Foundation has announced the appointment of Bradley C. Call as its new Chairman and CEO. He will succeed David R. Carpenter, who led the establishment of the Foundation in 1998 and who will remain an active board member and Chairman Emeritus.
UniHealth Foundation is an independent, private health care Foundation and, under Mr. Carpenter’s leadership, has become a leader in healthcare philanthropy, supporting innovative programs and services. Throughout the years, it has provided support to hospitals and nonprofit healthcare-organizations including partner hospitals, community clinics, respite care providers, social service agencies and supportive housing providers.
Mr. Call has been involved with the Foundation since its inception, most recently as Vice Chairman. He has had an extensive professional career in senior management, as Chairman, CEO and part owner of Kleinert Industries, Inc./Stellex Aerostructures, Inc., a U.S. industrial firm comprised of six operating entities in the aerospace component manufacturing industry, and as President and CEO of Everest & Jennings, Inc., at the time the world’s largest manufacturer of wheelchairs. He began his career at North American Aviation as a design engineer and went on to work as a management consultant within the consulting practice of Touche Ross & Co.
Mr. Call has served on the Board of Directors of PacifiCare Health Systems, Northridge Hospital Medical Center, St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation and Orthopedic Hospital Medical Center Foundation, as well as numerous other corporations, foundations and associations.
A native of the San Fernando Valley and a current resident of Newbury Park, CA, Mr. Call received his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from UCLA and his Master’s Degree in Engineering Economics and Management from UCLA.
