San Luis Obispo, CA - After a highly attended Dinner Event discussing Women in Technology Local Community Organization, Softec, is launching a Women in Technology interest group to facilitate networking of Women in our community.
“The February dinner we held has an amazing turnout and it became obvious that Women are looking for opportunities to connect and network in an environment focused on their needs and schedules,” stated Softec President Joshua Erdman.
The Women in Technology interest group is starting with a regularly held breakfast meeting, starting at 8AM on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at Whole Foods in San Luis Obispo. They are working on plans to start a monthly lunch meeting as well before year’s end.
“I love living in this area and am very excited to be working with Softec to get an interest group focused on women.” stated Becki Walker, local business consultant in San Luis Obispo. “Most business events do not take into account school schedules or families where both spouses are working. My hope is that this group helps fill in this gap and provide women in our varied tech community with an opportunity to share their knowledge and experience with each other.”
With over 2,000 members, Softec creates and promotes technology-themed events for enthusiasts of all ages to connect, network, educate and learn.
Our mission has been constant throughout the years: Help align local businesses, individuals and educational resources in our community to produce a thriving hub of innovation on the Central Coast.
