The Cecilia Fund Benefit: ‘El Asunto del Corazon’ (Affaire of the Heart)

On Saturday October 10th, 2015 the Cecilia Fund (TCF) will host ‘El Asunto del Corazon’ its second annual Affaire of the Heart fundraiser. The Spanish themed benefit will take place in the stately gardens of the Music Academy of the West in Montecito from 4 to 6 pm. The afternoon’s guests will enjoy tasty hors d’oeuvres and delicious wines in keeping with the cuisine of Spain accompanied by the strumming of guitars as they stroll through the picturesque gardens of the Music Academy. Catherine Remak, co-host of KLITE’s “Gary and Catherine” show, well known throughout the community for her philanthropic efforts, will welcome the guests as Mistress of Ceremonies.
The Cecilia Fund, an all volunteer organization, has a mission to provide medical and dental assistance for the most vulnerable members of the Santa Barbara community; the elderly, the working poor, and the disenfranchised. TCF , formerly known as the St. Cecilia Society, is the oldest non-profit in the city of Santa Barbara and was established in 1892 by a group of Cottege Hospital doctor’s wives. Their original mission established long ago remains in tact and has been passed through the generations into the 21st Century’s challangeing medical environment. TCF’s clients, now referred and vetted by Social Service agencies, hospitals and clinics in Santa Barbara County, continue apply for services as a resource of last resort. The ‘El Asunto del Corazon’ event’s proceeds go directly to them, with no administrative costs, for the their benefit and others in the future with critial care concerns.
