Cuyama Mama & The Hot Flashes formed in early 2014 when a gaggle of farmer/musicians from Quail Springs Permaculture Farm put together a dance band for their local bar. The band continues to be surprised and happy about the growing number of folks that come out to dance and enjoy their high desert dance music. Once again the band will be scrubbing off most of the dirt, putting on their aprons, and suspenders, and fully committing to making your toes tap, and your tail feathers shake. Cuyama Mama & The Hot Flashes sets range from covers of Gillian Welch, John Prine…to original songs with an emphasis on story.

Earthtrine Farm, Nojoqui Farms and Tutti Frutti Farms are gifting fresh seasonal produce to be featured in the evening’s meal in appreciation of Soho Restaurant and Music Venue’s commitment to buying their produce from local farmers. Thank you to these local farmers for their generosity, and thank you Soho for your commitment to purchasing local organic produce.

Cuyama Mama & The Hot Flashes is Jan Smith, Andrew Clinard, Ryan Spaulding, Willow Brehmer and Lindsay Allen. Instruments usually present are 3 or 4 voices doing a lot of harmonizing, guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and a range of percussion and other music making devices.
