Register to Vote at the Central Library

Tuesday, September 22, 2015, the Santa Barbara Public Library System invites the community to the Central Library for National Voter Registration Day. The League of Women Voters and other volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions about the registration process. Registration forms will be available to complete on the premises.
In 2012, an estimated 6 million people did not vote because they missed a deadline or did not know how to register. The next election for many Santa Barbara residents is November 3, 2015 and the deadline for registering to vote in that election is October 19, 2015. Individuals who may need to register or re-register include new United States citizens, those who will be eighteen by election day and those who have changed their name, political party or residence since the last election.

National Voter Registration Day is a non-partisan, grassroots effort to make it possible for more voters to participate in the election process. As Franklin D. Roosevelt said, “Libraries are … essential to the functioning of a democratic society …libraries are the great symbols of the freedom of the mind.”
Information about the Santa Barbara Public Library System locations, hours, events and programs is available at All Library programs are free and open to the public. The Santa Barbara Public Library-building a love of reading.
