4th Annual Strength to Give Event

August 13th 2016 Santa Barbara, CA – When Eric Malzone started Gravitas Fitness, they made giving back to the community one of the core tenets of their business. Over the last four years Gravitas Fitness and its members have raised over $40,000 for local charities, primarily through their annual event called Strength To Give. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit Girls Incorporated of Greater Santa Barbara, a local Santa Barbara non profit that provides young girls a place to find their own voices, and strive to be responsible, confident, and independent young women. Girls Inc. provides academic enrichment so girls increase their love of learning, improve performance in school, and plan for education beyond high school. For over 50 years, Girls Inc. has helped young girls build strong foundations for better futures.

The 4th annual Strength to Give will be held on August 13th at Gravitas Fitness at 220 East Cota Street in downtown Santa Barbara. Participants will complete a specially designed workout of the day (WOD) that includes elements of weightlifting, gymnastics, and cardio. All exercises can be scaled based on any level of fitness and no experience is necessary. The workout will begin at 10am and will be followed by food and refreshments. Participants can get involved by signing up to compete in the workout ($40 signup fee with t-shirt), sponsoring an athlete, becoming an event sponsor, or simply by donating at the website www.strengthtogive.com. All proceeds from the event will go to benefit Girls Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara.
“Strength to Give is our favorite way to help the success of our community ” Said co-owner Eric Malzone, “We are particularly excited to help raise funds for an organization that does as much good work in the community as Girls Inc., so they can continue to build strong, stable, and confident futures.”
