Northbound U.S. Highway 101 On-Ramp at Salinas Street to Be Closed Four Weeks for Culvert Repairs

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY – The northbound US Highway 101 on-ramp at Salinas Street will be closed for a four week period beginning Tuesday night, Dec. 27 at 9 pm. In addition, the No. 3 (right) lane of northbound US 101 will be closed from East Cabrillo Boulevard/Hot Springs Road to Salinas Street 24/7 for this same four week period.

This closure is necessary so that Caltrans may perform repairs to a drainage culvert a Sycamore Creek that was recently damaged by a fire.

Motorists will detour via Carpinteria Street to reach the northbound US Highway 101 on-ramp at Milpas Street.

Electronic message boards will be activated and detour signs will be posted to inform the public about this roadwork. Motorists can expect delays not to exceed 10 minutes.

The contractor for this $1 million project is Cal Portland of Santa Barbara. This project is expected to be completed in January 2017, weather permitting.
