GRB Options 2 Books on Christianity by NYT Best-Selling Author Isbouts of Santa Barbara, CA

LOS ANGELES, CA – (November 28, 2016) – Global production company GRB Entertainment announced today it has optioned film, television and digital/OTT rights for New York Times Best-Selling book, Archaeology of the Bible, by Jean-Pierre Isbouts. On sale now from publisher National Geographic Books, the book examines hundreds of significant archaeological discoveries linked to the biblical narrative in a historical context and from an objective, non-denominational perspective, in addition to discussing what has yet to be located. The book includes a number of the most recent discoveries, including the ongoing excavation of Magdala, the town of Mary Magdalene, and the discovery of Herod’s palace in Jerusalem, where sc holars believe Jesus was tried by Pilate.

This is the second title by Isbouts to be optioned by GRB; his The Story of Christianity, published by National Geographic Books in 2014, was optioned last year by GRB. Currently in development as a 12-part series, the book is a cultural chronicling of Christianity through the lens of iconic locations, biblical figures and pivotal moments in the history of the Christian faith.

Dr. Jean-Pierre Isbouts is a historian and doctoral professor at Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, California. He has published widely on the origins of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, including two best-sellers: The Biblical World, published by National Geographic Books in 2007, and In the Footsteps of Jesus, published by National Geographic Books in 2012.
