As large scale and high profile cyber security breaches, data theft, and outright sabotage have become the new normal, Santa Barbara area Informa IT Management Services and its SCADA design and implementation partner for critical infrastructure, CIT, have begun working with the FBI in an effort to ramp up security and protect itself and its clients from ongoing emerging cyber threats. Informa’s clients, which consist mainly of first responders, water agencies, and healthcare services continue to be considered prime targets for cyber terrorism.
In a security briefing on Tuesday, Informa and CIT technical staff were trained in threat detection and incident response by FBI special agents responsible for cyber crimes involving national security matters. As part of that training, technical staff was taught how to identify certain types of threats, containment, and how to stop an attacker from achieving their goals.
“Our team is very dedicated to providing the best service it can to our clients and in having the ability to call upon the FBI’s resources if needed, we are even better equipped to keep our customers’ network safe and their data more secure,” said Strategic Operations Manager Robert Knasin.
