CALM hosts “CALM at Heart: Awakening”, November 10th

Santa Barbara, CA. November 2016 – Be Present. Be CALM. To celebrate the healing power of mindfulness in response to trauma, CALM (Child Abuse Listening Mediation) is hosting their fifth annual CALM at Heart event: CALM at Heart: Awakening, on Thursday, November 10, from 11:30am-1:00pm at the Coral Casino, Four Seasons Biltmore.

“We invite you to our largest fundraising event of the year to learn more about how CALM’s prevention programs across Santa Barbara County help parents and children heal from their traumatic pasts. We know that all parents want to be the best possible parents they can be. Let’s make our community one where each of us is responsible for one another. Let’s raise our voices for the safety and well-being of our children.” Alana Walczak, Chief Executive Officer of CALM.

CALM at Heart is an upbeat, mission-driven event to raise funds to support CALM’s vital child abuse prevention and treatment programs at CALM. This year’s theme, Awakening, honors the mindful work CALM therapists do with children and families. Guests of CALM at Heart will enjoy an afternoon with MC Catherine Remak of K-LITE’s morning show and keynote speaker Dr. Jennifer Freed, all while enjoying a two-course lunch and panoramic ocean views. Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win six luxurious baskets. Those who are unable to attend the CALM at Heart event on November 10 are also encouraged to make a donation to CALM.

Tickets for CALM at Heart: Awakening are $125 per person and are available by clicking here. For more information about CALM at Heart: Awakening or about CALM’s Therapy program and services, call (805) 965-2376 or click here. CALM is grateful for the generous support of their sponsors:
