Calcagno & Hamilton Hosts Spring Event to Raise Awareness for Local Non-profit, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates)

Montecito, CA– To celebrate the changing of the season, Calcagno & Hamilton, Santa Barbara and Montecito’s number one real estate team, held a special Spring Soirée event in early April, welcoming over 150 clients, friends, real estate representatives, and community leaders.
The event was one of several planned events to highlight local artists and Santa Barbara area non-profits, using the C&H office space. “This space easily lends itself to events like this,” said C&H principal partner Nancy Hamilton. “Being in the heart of Montecito, in this beautiful building, with its ideal gallery space on the walls; we want to share this space with the community!”
The event’s purpose in part was to highlight Santa Barbara non-profit CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), giving representatives from the organization the opportunity to connect with locals and share CASA’s mission of assuring a safe, permanent, nurturing home for every abused and/or neglected child by providing a highly trained volunteer to advocate for them in the court system. CASA development director Tim Bigelow was on hand to explain the role of a CASA volunteer, and the need for more volunteers and donations in Santa Barbara County. Calcagno & Hamilton and CASA have an ongoing partnership, as the real estate team has donated both funds and time to the cause.
The soirée also featured the paintings of local artists. Curated by Arts Fund director Marcello Ricci, the sunset reception showed off the art of Michael Amour, Phoebe Brunner, Erika Carter, Michael Irwin, and Lisa Marie Pedersen. Four paintings were sold during the event.
Appetizers were catered by Bending Fork, with craft cocktails by Shaun Belway, who offered three signature drinks (all named after Montecito streets). Guitarist Adam Peot provided the music.
The Calcagno & Hamilton team, led by principal partners Michael Calcagno and Nancy Hamilton, as well as office manger Susan Kim, and agents Dan Crawford, Amanda Lee, Kelly Mahan Herrick, and Lisa McCollum, was recently acknowledged for being #1 in the Santa Barbara area for number of real estate transactions in 2016. With over $111 million sold and 52 transactions last year alone, the team has closed over a billion dollars in local real estate sales, and was also honored with Berkshire Hathaway’s Chairman’s Circle Diamond award, marking them as in the top half of 1% of BHHS agents nationwide.
“We could not do what we do without the brand power and support of Berkshire Hathaway, and without the continued and loyal support of our clients. This event was a way to celebrate and thank them, as well as give back to the community,” said C&H partner Michael Calcagno.
