Compassion Foot Patrols to Provide Outreach on February 18 and 19 to Santa Barbara Residents Impacted by the Bryan Carreno Shooting

On Saturday, February 18 and Sunday, February 19, compassion foot patrols will be available to offer psychological support to residents of the La Cumbre neighborhood of Santa Barbara impacted by the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Bryan Carreno by Sheriff’s deputies on February 13. The foot patrols will operate from 2-4 pm each day.

Organized by volunteers with the Santa Barbara Response Network, compassion foot patrols are activated after incidents that result in trauma and psychological stress in the community.

The Santa Barbara Response Network (SBRN) is a grassroots community organization dedicated to offering social support, mainly in the form of Psychological First Aid (PFA), to assist in recovery from traumatic incidents.
