Hitching Post Celebrates 65th Anniversary

The Legacy lives on. The Ostini family and staff will be celebrating their 65th year in business at the original Hitching Post in Casmalia, beginning May 1st.

It all started in 1952, when their parents Natalie & Frank Sr. purchased the restaurant with his brothers Vic and Bill. Over the past six decades the Hitching Post has garnered a reputation for excellent food and service, and is known around the world.

The original restaurant is located in the tiny community of Casmalia, Calif., about 12 miles southwest of Santa Maria. Its close proximity to Vandenberg Air Force Base has made it a favorite of military and civilians alike, some returning 30 and 40 years later to find nothing much has changed at the restaurant or its wonderfully remote location.

Proprietor Bill Ostini states “people ask us all the time, how do you succeed in a business that few survive. We’ve tried to maintain a constant for our customers. We serve the highest quality food we can find, and treat our customers like they’re guests in our home. It’s been that way for as long as I can remember. We have a great staff! Chefs who turn out an excellent product, and servers, hosts and bussers who care about their customers experience with us. Many have been with us for 10, 20 and 30 years.”

The Ostini family will be offering some special promotions starting May 1st, including the 65th ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL, two complete New York steak dinners for $65. The most exciting deals have to do with their “Billy Wonka” theme ticket giveaways! One diner each night in the month of May only will receive an envelope. Your envelope could contain a ticket to win “Artichokes for Life” (their most popular appetizer). And the big prize is ONE GOLDEN TICKET to one lucky, random winner during the month, winning “DINNER FOR LIFE”!

Wine lovers will enjoy a special offering of a bottle of ANNIVERSARY RED wine, made by brother Frank Ostini and his wine partner, Gray Hartley and two complimentary souvenir wine glasses for $25.

Facebook and Instagram will be the places to follow all the exciting offers for their anniversary. The Casmalia restaurant is open daily for dinner at 4:30pm, Sunday at 4pm. Reservations are recommended.
