Interfaith Sanctuary Alliance Awarded Fund for S.B. Grant

CLUE Santa Barbara has received an Emerging Needs Grant from the Fund for Santa Barbara to hire an administrative coordinator for their working group, the Interfaith Sanctuary Alliance (ISA). The goal of the ISA is to work within the community to raise awareness for the needs of our immigrant neighbors, resist unjust policies that target and discriminate against them, and pursue racial reconciliation within the community by establishing and building personal relationships.

In September, the ISA hosted a Town Hall meeting regarding the passing of SB54, at which they invited Sheriff Brown and local activists to present their stances on the bill and to answer the community’s questions. Moving forward, the ISA anticipates communication within their members to be more efficient and effective as they build a larger web presence with the help of their newly hired administrative coordinator.
