Community members are invited to a community outreach meeting regarding a grant application submitted to the County of Santa Barbara Housing and Community Development Division for Homeless
Emergency Aid Program (HEAP) funds. The City of Santa Barbara, in partnership with the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Barbara, Cottage Hospital, PATH Santa Barbara and City Net, developed a multi‐faceted, comprehensive grant proposal to address the homelessness crisis within the City.
The proposed 30‐month plan includes the addition of a full‐time Police Officer dedicated to Restorative Policing, an outreach nurse practitioner, a service navigator, additional beds at an existing shelter,
extensive street outreach and case management, and the proposed temporary use of the Carrillo/Castillo commuter lot for the purpose of providing “tiny homes” and services to homeless persons in Santa Barbara.
Staff from the partner organizations will be present at this meeting to provide information about the project, address concerns and answer questions.
