SUMMER BREEZE: Who knew that Jen Villa would find herself ensconced in the enviable California lifestyle after growing up in Massachusetts? Dreams of working in the field of photography brought her to Brooks Institute, and our wise folks in edit production brought her on as a freelance photographer for The Independent about nine months ago. Since then, she’s been shooting primarily for our Food & Drink section, one of the main benefits being “eating all the yummy grub after I finish photographing it!” And this week, Villa tackled assignments for our nightlife issue, shooting S.B.’s evolving super club, Tonic. But on a regular night out, you’d probably find her at SOhO or Eos, or maybe hanging out at The Neighborhood or Brophy Bros. Yoga is a budding interest, and, like any good Golden State transplant, she’s loving the surf, sand, and sun of our famous endless summers.
