Dudes, much respect but I've got to agree with SB_Mom (yikes!) on the tired re-fried modern rock hash you've been slinging at KJEE for waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy too long! Get with the program(ing) and update your freakin' catalog or just play some deep cuts already! Your station sounds like it's stuck in the mid-90's. So much so, that I've resorted to listening only when I'm sick of the cd's in my car, and rarely do I listen at home. It's a sad thing, because I grew up on AOR in the 70's, which was a beautiful thing. Thank gawd for KCRW, wish they had a stronger signal in SB.

PS: I like Fat J.

Well this is an even more sickening account than I read last week in edhat. What an appaling mess. I'm so sorry for Nick, who sounds like a sweet kid from the things I've read, and for his parents. No one deserves this kind of horror.
To those defending the "medical professionals" for "just doing their jobs" I say this: you're out of your minds. A brain injured patient, or any other patient for that matter, should not be treated the way Nick was. And the reports of abuse witnessed by some of the commenters here need to be followed up by the law. Have any charges been filed against the hospital and staff, or the rehab center and staff there?? The reports of conspiring to have Nick arrested by assaulting him to make him angry?? WTF??! This is absolute insanity. It's outrageous. The DA should definitely get involved in this.

I thought this land had been in the public domain for decades and had only recently been purchased by the mega-developers (destroyers of all that is good) in recent years. Surfers have been using those trails to the beach for decades and because of that, actually have legal right to keep using them. Surfing, like skateboarding, is not a crime! I hate what I'm reading about the development at Naples and I'm not even a surfer, just a lover of the SB county coastline. This land should not be developed, it should be left wild.

Um, the "invasion" didn't start on 9/11, there were no IRAQIS in those planes, they were SAUDIS. WE INVADED a country that has or was supposed to have had a lot of oil, so that we could take it from them. We have destroyed Iraq and created the "war-torn" situation that some of you suppose our troops are going there to quell. GET REAL PEOPLE! The war in Iraq has been a massive debacle, a huge lie and has sucked our economy dry. I honor every person who feels compelled to serve our country in such a self-less way, and I do not blame any military service person, following the orders of their superiors, for the crimes of the Bush administration. But that doesn't mean I can't openly acknowledge the outrageous falsehoods that have been sold to the citizens of this country in the name of the (fake) "war on terror". We the people have a patriotic duty to pay attention and keep those in power in-check -- we have and are failing miserably. I wept on the day of "shock and awe" and my heart aches for the loss of every fallen U.S. soldier and for every Iraqi who has lost their home/family/way of life. The morally bankrupt Bush administration will soon be a thing of the past, but the war in Iraq will go on and we will be footing that bill for decades, both financially, physically and emotionally.
