Why doesn't debra get a job paying her "cheap illegal" wages? That is a start right? If they(illegals) can live on the low wages, I'm sure she can also. I have seen debra out in the Osh parking lot a couple of times, all while i am trying to stuff my lunch down my neck, so i can get back to work to make money. I wish i didn't have to bust my behind to make a buck, but i do, as well as millions of others. I wish i could muster up a nice puppy dog face and have money handed to me while i don't even lift a finger.

It's a good thing the damage in the picture above wasn't caused by a mountain bike, otherwise there would be a huge uproar, lol.

santabarbarasand- how about next time you or one of your family members has an important doctor's appointment, i can stand in your driveway for 3 hours preventing you from getting there. no big deal right?
You assume the only reason people were on the roads was to go work their lives away like as bunch of sheep. I can assure you this was not the case. This guy is not a hero, he is selfish and greedy. Is there anything he said that we don't already know? who knows, he was on the overpass surrounded by cops so no one even knows what he was trying to say. looks like his plan backfired big time.

Well I had a family member miss a very important medical procedure this afternoon. So F#$& this guy. There are plenty of crazies in SB, why should he get all the attention? Also, when someone goes onto a freeway overpass with a gun and a mask, what do they expect to happen? If he did shoot a car on the freeway, all of you would be complaining that the sheriff SHOULD have closed the freeway and were idiots not to.
This guy is not only crazy, but he is selfish and greedy as well.

SB is normally pretty quiet, so when something does happen, they all want to be hero's and save the day. I think if something similar to this happened in oxnard, their police would be able to control themselves a little better with the experience they have dealing with this sort of thing.
I too can vouch that SBPD will not let you get a sweatshirt or shoes to stay warm while they are talking/questioning you, even in the rain!

I can not grasp the 3rd grade logic around here. You people assume that if someone drives a nice car, or lives in a nice home, they obviously must be an a** hole. What a Joke! Surely it is not possible to care about other people and care about the environment if you drive a lexus, mercedes, bmw, etc... That would be impossible. Has anyone ever driven by naples in the past 20 years, there are more homes there right now than anywhere between else between hollister ranch and elwood, yet this land is now considered pristine? I have lived in SB my entire life and if we are going to have more building, I would rather see more luxury homes than condo's or town homes. Would you rather live in carmel, or salinas?
If everyone opposing naples has the same logic as some of these posters, no wonder they didn't win their argument.

If we all fed our dogs table scraps, we wouldn't have to worry about what food company makes the most environmentally conscious foods. Better yet, take them to a park and let them hunt down a nice squirrel or gopher, that way you can solve a few problems at once.

I think most people go out for a quick hike and think nothing of it to just bring a 20oz waterbottle. everytime i go hiking or biking with my dog, i always fill up my 100oz camelbak and bring a small plastic bowl for the dog. i think some people must worry about the added weight of the water. I am 23 and have heard of stories like these 100 times. Have some people never heard of this kind of thing before? Better to have it and not use it than to need it and not have it.

Let me ask this. How much pollution is released from a fire the size of Gap or Zaca(9k and 240k acres, respectively)? Based on the amount of smoke going into the air for that long, one must assume it is a great amount. I always see all this talk about how we humans cause all of the damage to the environment with our cars/factories/etc.. lets see some numbers on how much damage a wildfire does.
Also, fires 100 years ago never had human help to be put out, thus letting them burn until they couldn't burn any longer. Im sure every square inch of this state has been burned several times over the last tens of thousands of years, yet the fires now are somehow linked to what humans have done our last 100 years???
