Biography: Dinah Mason of Santa Barbara, Calif., has been a peace activist since the late 90's when Kenneth Starr began his investigation and impeachment of President Bill Clinton. Her daughter served in the Army in Iraq for four and a half years , including 6 months on stop-loss orders. Mason's son-in-law as also served in the Army in Iraq (Taji, Iraq, January, 2005-December, 2005) and was severly wounded in his second deployment and recently received a Purple Heart. Her family has a history of military service dating back to the Revolutionary War. She is a descendant of Major John Buttrick who led the militia troops at Battle of Concord, Old North Bridge; her Paternal Great Grandfather, Sgt. Robert Clossin, was a wagon maker in Union Army during the Civil War; her father was a 1st Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps serving as a B-25 Mitchell Bomber pilot during World War Two; her sister is a Vietnam-era Veteran (US Women's Army Corps); her brother served in the Indiana National Guard; and Mason herself is a Vietnam Era Veteran (US Women's Army Corps, 1974-75).
Dinah's husband, John Mason, is a retired writer/editor and worked at the Indianapolis Star, Albuquerque Journal and the Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph.
