Italiansurg - dont get me wrong I love everything italian inlcuding and especially Italy and everything Mexican, Greek, Persian, Bristish, Turkish, etc, etc etc (meaning: I'm not racist, sexist and I LOVE old people - the back bone of our society in my opinion) but you REALLY need to work on your critical thinking skills.
Implying that a 48 woman is old - as evidenced by your "agist" comment is "agist" in itself. There are many high profile women reporters older than Paula.
Did you forget any other "ist?"
Wondering if you are male or female. You needn't answer - your right not to - but im guessing....?

Oh no - it's Zappa. Over and out with that development.
Zappa - I will give you credit though for being unwaveringly consistent in your incorrect assumptions.
SBama. Its news, her husband is a judge vying for a position on the court of appeals, she is a high profile local public figure, etc.
She chose to put herself out there. Why don't you complain to the Independent and others, if comments on this matter are so devastating to you. She is of no personal concern to me. Her life, her choice.
It has to do with the larger issues about how this system and community operate and the deprivation of equal protection and due process to many citizens while others are afforded an excess of both.
Never watched TMZ - sorry.
Maybe this was all manufactured by her husband as an intervention using public resources - hmmm, new theory to ponder. She is clearly a burden to him. This would give him a high profile advantage if he wanted to dump her.

And can someone remind me again why her children have not been removed from her home and/or custody????
Perhaps Judge Sterne or some other highly experienced family law judge and/or mother "with an excellent vocabulary" could enlighten the peons who need their exceedingly wise decisions to guide our community.

True - children are often unable to control horses as well if they are inexperienced and fearful. Ten is pretty young depending on the horse and the rider.
Perhaps the horse was improperly prepared and brushed prior to its saddle being fit if there was a bur underneath.
A plastic bag could possibly frighten a horse if the rider can't deal with it and calm and control the animal. Must have been a big plastic bag.
As stated above, I would guess someone like Hotchkiss would be provided with a docile animal accustomed to people, crowds and other horses.
But hey - I could be wrong.
On Councilmember Frank Hotchkiss Injured in Fall From Horse

Horses only behave that way when they can sense their rider is afraid of them and not in control of the situation.
I am sure Hotchkiss was given a horse of very mild temperment and one used to crowds unless Frank lied about his riding abilities.
Hmmm, somewhat analogous to his posturing on the City Council. All talk and no real action or experience.

No offense Italiansurg but obviously there was someone present who forced the issue who perhaps outranked Paula without her hubby present and the cops couldn't cover it up. That's really how it works.
She was only charged with a misdemeanor - that's on the level of jaywalking - the best the cops could wrangle for her. Her offense was likely more serious than that.
Again - I question the well-being of her children.
The additional preferential treatment will be forthcoming when the DA drops or rejects the charges in a few days based on some joke of a justification.
Over and out. - don't want to become Ken, Dr. Dan or John Locke et al but this is a tad interesting.
Lets see what our law enforcers do about this.

I assume you include yourself in the cast of "zany characters" posting on this site, Ken. Geez you and Dan just gotta get out more.

Please Dr. Dan. Where was the compassion for the guy Genis just represented who the cops beat up? Where is the compassion for our regular old citizens and the massive amount of charges (many FALSE) filed against them on a daily basis for similar or lesser offenses?
It looks like compassion extends only to people like Iya Falcone, Cat Cora, etc or those otherwise favored by the "insiders" at the courthouse.
Her husband is a judge you know she'll be just fine and continue down whatever path she chooses for herself with no fear of reprisal. I would think her children should be taken away from her as they are clearly not in the care of a responsible individual.
I wonder how this will affect her husband's bid for a seat on the Court of Appeals - probably won't.
The legal system's (especially our local one) motto is "Do as I say, not as I do."
Don't you have something more important to do than constantly post on the Independent? As one of our "pillars of the community" why don't you get out there and advocate for something useful and meaningful besides destruction of our coastline or your own personal agenda and building permits.
If this is a different Dr. Dan than I think, I apologize and do retract the prior paragraph.

Why do Zappas posts never make any sense? Perhaps she listens to too much Zappa and follows his lifestyles choices.
Sorry - maybe I simply don't share her intellectual capabilities and it's my shortcoming but I just don't get them.
On Attorney Found in Contempt of Court

Ah what a wonderful legal system we have here in Paradise. More concerned with name calling, protecting their own, and "paying the professionals" rather than the best interest of children which entails destroying chidlren's lives based on NO CREDIBLE EVIDENCE and handing them over to absentee "parents", alcoholics, sociopaths, and molestors in order to hide their own incompetence and errors made from the bench.
Yes, we all know who she is. Judging family law cases with no family and barely functioning while she makes faces and rolls her eyes at witnesses she doesn't like in the presence of a jury.
How about a contempt order, discipline or sanction for an incompetent judge who should be OFF THE BENCH before she destroys more children's lives.
