Our National Parks are for all of us. I applaud the Channel Islands National Park for carefully balancing the needs of a variety of visitors with the goal of preserving these special islands through continued restoration work, visitor carrying capacity limits, and even large swaths of proposed Wilderness Area designations.

Very nice article, Dr. McGinnis. Thank you for reminding us that the whales we enjoy off our coast are here because of a complex and fragile marine ecosystem that provides so much life. If readers out there haven't witnessed these majestic creatures right in our backyard, please hop on a whale watch boat and go experience something unforgettable.
