Mitchum's ads were pathetic, but Capps is a known liar who never accomplished anything except getting elected by sympathy vote after her husband died. Unfortunately, we're stuck with her yet again.

Measure M did not pass, but garnered very close to 50% of the vote. The BoS should darn well pay attention and fix our infrastructure with all due haste.

But fracking is not climate change, so let's not confuse or misdirect the debate.

Good news. This project is not only affordable, it is necessary to ensure a long term water supply. Besides which, water is a scarce resource and should not be cheap. Good for you, City. No reason this should be delayed by regulatory masturbation.

Funny how some people consider anything that disagrees with their opinions non factual. Just the fact that opponents choose to refer to the process as fracking (used as a substitute f-bomb in a certain TV series) is a demonstration of politicization. The argument about fracking is NOT settled until a rigorous scientific study has been done and repeated. And even then, in spite of what our Liar in Chief would have you believe, there is no such thing as "settled science". At one time in history everyone KNEW that the earth was flat and was the center of the universe.

We already have universal background checks in California. What we don't have is access by the background checkers to individuals' mental health records, thanks to HIPA, a federal law. THAT is what Capps should be working on.

1. Brains are not fully formed until at least age 25.
2. A fence will not keep someone from doing something stupid.
3. Society should not be paying to keep people safe from their own stupidity.
4. The idea that saving one life is worth "anything" is ludicrous in societal terms. The "anything" always comes down to other peoples' money.
5. And BTW, the gov's idea of "temporary" could mean years.
