I live in the GAP area and would love any feedback that anyone has on the contamination effects of the hydromulching in the GAP area. Is there a health concern from inhaling this while it was being applied? I was in the flight path and I can say that my swimming pool didn't fair too well during the flyovers. Algae bloom big time!

Isn't Edgecomb the one who was on the sheriffs counsel with sheriff Chief Jim Anderson? They had a fight in the office.Chris has been a bully for years and this is nothing new to me. It's time this city stops rubber stamping events, permits, special interests for people. Everyone should go by the guidelines and have no preferential treatment. Shame on all the departments for cutting corners or looking the other direction.

I saw Das Williams skanking to the upbeat and it seemed like he really was enjoying himself. It was a great day..but I have to say that Dishwalla outdid themselves. They played a dozen songs...including Counting Blue Cars. Great show for a terrific cause. Our family donated heavily and my 13 year old really enjoyed the Calstar rescue helicopter that he had the opportunity to sit in. I hope there will be more benefit shows in the future for the wonderful couple and all the Tea Fire victims.

Typical News-Press tactics! I stopped my subscription 2 years ago. That is how I found The Independent..Thank you for your great coverage online and we are saving paper too. The old News-Press papers I saved for my dogs cleanups!!!

goletaobserver...why don't you come to my house and try and cross the crosswalk in front of my home on Cathedral Oaks? I wait every morning for the traffic to stop while I try and cross my 13 year old across that crosswalk. I stand out in the crosswalk not on the curb and no one stops. I have to wave my arms to make them stop. To compound the problem, traffic is flowing 20 miles above the speed limit (limit is 25 in front of schools when children are present) and there have been two rear end accidents from a vehicle stopping for us and another following too close or speeding. I have repeatedly called the Goleta Sheriffs and not once have they come and sit in my driveway and observe. I know all the motorcycle cops by name (they use my driveway ). They say they have a shortage of police and have been focusing on Brandon school. To top off my comment...City of Goleta has failed to repair or replace the speed flashing sign at Windsor and Cathedral Oaks that has been non operational for over 6 months. As a person who had a drunk homeless person cross our paths on the Northbound 101 and was struck and killed...it is the worse feeling in the world to hit and kill a pedestrian. Take it from me. PLEASE SLOW DOWN AND OBSERVE PEDESTRIANS WHETHER IN A CROSSWALK OR NOT. IT'S THE LAW!!!!

Elizabeth, I couldn't agree with you more. I attended all three days and didn't miss one band. I was upset by the F bombs and particularly the acid dropping comment. There was another reference by another band there prior to Pepper going on who said " Stick with marijuana and not hard drugs" I am no longer a Pepper fan and have seen them in concert many times.
Get some class guys!!
