As inspired as DMc. seems for this cause, our community does have the right to lessen impacts by reducing, restricting, denying illegal, or improper or incongruous land use. Even if and as one, makes points about everyone else being babies. Existing traffic/transportation is still a viable concern here, respective of regard for its condition or status. Perhaps this could really be about Mr. Lee not performing due diligence before acquiring?
The brochures you claim to have with development primary to measure Y's purpose differed extensively from those appearing in Hidden Valley. Phone calls right up to last night were equally omissive deceptive or manipulative. Last nights call is covered below.
Earth Day was educational on measure Y. Whereas the News Press and our Independent have both handled this issue with kid gloves and some poor choices in wording and transparency.
With all due respect and anticipation of more input, there is no way to expect my support for the band-aids. At least not before further, clearer involvement and knowledgeable input is presented, especially with lawsuits that have prevailed against this project and those that will surely ensue. The essence here is not of time, but of respect for the best interest of all of the people.
Last night a phone call from a "Y" states-person/proponent relating she could only read what she was given, addressed this as an issue supported by specific, popular and/or respected Republicans. The request for support not granted, and before disconnecting, the caller, bemoaned the hardship this decision will beset upon Alan Road residents. We should hope this is not a partisan issue, and cause or outcome not affected along party lines. This vote is not punitive to developers, residents or intended as such to anyone at this stage of the process. Let's hope it will remain that way.
Here we may find a campaign that needs to be cleaned up as much if not more than the creek, habitat or ingress/egress points it represents---

All interesting and most deserving some consideration. Having seen a large living steelhead pulled from lower mission creek in the 70's I'm excited to think that this could happen again.I'm reminded of Bob Brown, Neal Taylor, Jean Sedar, Gwen and Harry H., Phil, Teri Rusaki and a group of dedicated TU members gathering and talking about such projects. Any steps in the direction of preservation and rehabilitation of both habitat and native species has merit and worth. I see it helping our economic forecast with tourism and ecological growth and education with participation from private and public schools and business. Maybe we could utilize funds from the bed tax.I would be willing to help as well as support steps necessary to giterdone! I'll miss participating with my kids (from Harding, LaCumbre, thru Santa Barbara High School). If I do or can stick around count me in....grammatical corrections, off topic personal responses send direct to me directly no need to waste the good folks with good intentions time or energy...

But, of course, great reporting. Aside from a loose writing style I loved it and found it covered the topic and headline to the "T". I even found the block of information regarding time and location above the event details link at the end of the article informative and helpful. I bet you didn't put that in and were saved from criticism and condescension by attentive staff members at the foundry. Keep up the good writing/reporting and unique articles..
And, of course I appreciate that film series you do at that "out there" Magic Lantern in I.V.

It's this Saturday in Santa Barbara on almost every corner and sidewalk of lower State Street. I'd recommend it for most fun loving easy going folk. www.solsticeparade.com is excellent for the time and almost any other information you may require...don't be late. Enjoy your stay in S.B.

I don't understand the political bantering as it applies to this situation. A lot of people tried to do the right thing in the actual incident.. I include the Lifeguard, the bystanders, the teacher and even the children. The reporting and discussions are also the right thing but should not be the final word.I don't see where this is the venue to try the teacher or the methodology of teaching. I'm sorry this hasn't or wasn't and isn't being decided by the involved parents and teacher. The parents should understand and know what their care provider is about and have some sense of the child's activities and teacher choices at the daycare or school.Time and resources are and were misdirected in order to come to the ultimate adult "parental" choices. It means I'm not going to tell your children they have to climb a hill or do anything they aren't comfortable doing or allowed to do at (home or) the day care you enrolled them in....and you're asked kindly not to tell me or my children or my child's responsible party what my child can or isn't allowed to do at (home or) day care I enrolled them in. Good luck to the concerned teacher, children, and the parents.

Mickey Avalon would be the correct person for "thatguy" to address his intolerance.
