It galls me that any credit for this Board decision should go to Sheriff Bill Brown. He has not said a word about it for two years. The only ones to speak out have been former Santa Maria mayor, Larry Lavagnino, and Sheriff candidate, Sandra Brown, who has had it as her first campaign issue since last May. Recently, Sandra has gotten support from the pictured police officers and Mayor Lavagnino's son, Steve.

Dr Dan, I don't know why you keeping bringing Sgt Sandra Brown into this. She's not a politician or an administrator. She's a cop. She's the coroner. She was a volunteer SAR. And when she found out what was going on, she reported it when many others did not. She did the right thing.Even the undersheriff's lawyer said that his behavior has been going on for many years and he was promoted nevertheless.
