Chicken wire is NOT the best deterrent. Most chicken wire has 1" octagonal openings. A baby gopher can get into that. Buy gopher wire that has 3/4" openings, too small for a gopher, or , 1/2" hardware cloth, (square opening).
3/4" is better as it allows larger tree roots to grow through it.
Note that the hardware cloth is galvanized wire that is welded together after the galvinization while gopher wire is twisted together then galvinized, thus it will last longer underground.

Looks like the no on 37 campaign is so desperate that not only are they inventing things about the safety of their products but now they are violating federal law:
“The No on 37 campaign affixed the FDA’s seal to one of the campaign’s mailers. Section 506 of the U.S. Criminal Code states: “Whoever….knowingly uses, affixes, or impresses any such fraudulently made, forged, counterfeited, mutilated, or altered seal or facsimile thereof to or upon any certificate, instrument, commission, document, or paper of any description….shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both.”
The letter also provides evidence that the No on 37 campaign falsely attributed a direct quote to FDA in the campaign mailer. The quoted attribution, which appears below, is entirely false and fabricated. FDA did not make this statement and does not take a position on Prop 37.”
On Right to Know If It's GMO
Thank you for your reply. The legislature has had an entire generation to do something and has not. Now the people of the state are doing something and suddenly there is this alleged clamor for a perfect law that will never happen.
It's about freedom. The freedom to know what you are eating. My son is fighting in Afghanistan to protect our freedom.
At a million and a half dollars per day...number of days from time of filing of initiative divided by the amount that Monsanto and other companies are spending, you can buy a lot of confusion, lies, stalling and fake experts.
Why don't you watch this video and then refute some of the points in it? I'll listen.

The same hedge funds/holding companies that own those newspapers own most of the Monsanto/Syngenta/Bayer stock. Don't be so gullible. This is one reason I love the Independent, because it is!
The No on 37 campaign is desperate and has no science or studies behind their claims of safety. If you think they do, post a link to a peer reviewed human or lifetime animal trial that demonstrates safety. They now have been caught lying and breaking federal law:The No on 37 campaign affixed the FDA’s seal to one of the campaign’s mailers.

My heart goes out to you. I too had to endure this.
Might I suggest that you watch this video. I learned much from it and it not only applies to me but to my husband, my daughters and my grandchildren.
There are things that you can do.

Forgot to mention that many of these kids/young adults are going to go on Medi-Cal and or have children of their own that will. Yet another burden placed on the taxpayers.

Not only are we aging but there is a huge cohort of young people maturing into adulthood right now that have a double whammy: They have grown up in a much more polluted environment than we did.In addition to that this is the first generation to have grown up eating genetically modified food starting in the Mid '90s.
The amount of childhood obesity, allergies, so violent that one peanut can equal death, did you ever hear of that when you were a kid??, asthma, behavioral problems, chronic bowel problems, and most alarming, Autism that is skyrocketing past 1 in 88 children, indicate something very wrong in our environment. There is a growing scientific consensus that it is genetic modification of our food that is partially to blame for this. Placing genes from different animal species and bacteria (Genetically Modified Organisms) into the DNA of what we eat may not be a healthy option.Vote Yes on prop 37 and you will have the freedom to know if you are eating these or not. p.s. GMOs also cause breast and prostate cancer.
