Stop jumping to conclusions about something you weren't part of.

Consider this - the Sheriffs are doing their job and not releasing any info to the general public until they've figured out what happened - other that what was already reported - investigations are an inherent part of what they do.

Also, and please - consider the family and friends of the deceased, as this is their personal tragedy to deal with, not yours... the information, when ready, will be released in due time.

Lastly, instead of clamoring for more "nanny state" tactics (more rules, more laws, more nets, more cops, etc) that we're already living with, how about we all consider the personal responsibility each of us has to ourselves, and the common courtesy of helping others whose paths we come across, to do what we can do to (hopefully) avoid horribly tragic situations like these - for the greater good of our community, and humanity as a whole.

Step up and become part of a better solution instead of sitting in the spectators seat whining for answers.

@whatsinsb: You're right! This is not "news", this is an "article" for a regular Indy columnist. Go read the News Homepage page if all you want is "news".

@Star: Thanks for the genuine, heartfelt giggles, as always! :)

Yeah - how about a lot more info in this "news" blip. Here's the link to the actual results for SB Schools - maybe the Indy will allow it... or not. We'll see.

Excuse me? What about the blatant sexual assault, getting caught and dealing with the consequences doesn't apply here? Kudos to the employee at Tonic for being alert, stepping up to protect the victim AND following through with having the bastard arrested - instead of just throwing him out.

Yup, he's a Roshell! Great read Stone, "vaginal flossing" *snort* thanks for the giggles - and yes he's referring to his mothers take on thong underwear - come on people, lighten up! Consider doing a summer series... you have a knack for this thoughts-on-paper stuff.

I'm going to save this one for when my near-tween hits his mid-teens just to see how much he agrees... Or perhaps he'll just roll his eyes at me and mumble a "No duh" somewhere in my direction.

Fair enough, makes perfect sense and I could easily agree to that, and for the sake of being transparent, how about:

1) Change the name of the organization to the "Tri-County Farmer's Market", so that it is representational of who is actually participating. Farmers, from the Tri-County region.

2) Consider placing a cap on max farm-size, to truly keep it "small farms" oriented.

I'm all for shopping local, even from Oxnard! I'm not at all for further lining lawyers pockets, while this current group running the show can't figure out how to work together for the greater good of the local Farmer's Market and the community that shops with them.

Um, yeeeeeah. Why again is an Oxnard grower in charge of the Santa Barbara Farmer's Market?? That should be the first item addressed on the agenda... then work on all the rest from there. I'd imagine with much less bickering and back-stabbing going on, there would be much less need (and costs associated) for lawyers involved.
