Thank you Daryl Genis for standing up to the systemically corrupt Santa Barbara Cops. Anyone remember Kasi Beutel? It is a thorough and complete testament to brainwashing that anyone would support these 100% corrupt cops, corrupt prosecutors, and corrupt judges. The facts of the case remain that a friend of the deceased who was riding a motorcycle is charged with manslaughter. That fact alone should have thrown this case out during discovery. Now the cowardly bullies with badges feel they can intimidate witnesses on the courtroom steps, and even inside the courtroom?! I guess they are right because the Judge turns a blind eye to justice. The biggest surprise is not the thoroughly corrupt cops, prosecutors and judges of SB County, it's the eunich's that live in SB County and put up with this abuse, and even more pathetic, they critcize defense attorneys like Mr. Genis who have the guts to stand up to the bullies with badges. Good news for you folks - It will be much easier for you to lick Law Enforcements boots when they are on your neck.

Nice work Santa Barbara Independent! Thank you for the update from 2 years ago. Why pay journalists to write and editors to edit, when you can just re-print 2 year old articles? Genius.

On “Foot by Foot” for the Franklin Trail

I understand that many people are afraid to believe that our own Government and the USAF would be involved in something that would harm the fellow US citizens. To you people I say put your big boy pants on and look up with awareness. I have been looking at the sky with awareness for decades, and please allow me to share some info. In the late 1980's and the 1990's, I worked in film production on several westerns, Dance with Wolves and Wyatt Earp just to name 2. Since I was low man on the production totem pole, one of my jobs was to monitor the skies for contrails, because they obviously would not be part of a 19th century western sky. Contrails were never a problem and the camera never waited, but real contrails always dissipated in a few minutes. Fast forward to 1999- Suddenly plane exhaust became a totally different creature, chemtrails. The chemtrails did not disappear, quite the contrary, they stuck around and even expanded. Many many days I remember clearly in Los Angeles, the high desert, over the Sierras, and in NM, the spraying would turn a cloudless day into a sky covered in lingering chemtrails. In those days a Google search for the word, "chemtrails" would yield a few hundred hits. Today a Google search for the word "chemtrails" yields 4,850,000 hits. That means nearly 5 million websites are talking about the word. That's a lot of people talking about something that doesn't exist, don't you think? So many scientists have validated chemtrails that you should do your own research. People like Al Gore and Bill Gates have admitted that chemtrails exist, although those two are public figures, they are not trustworthy in my book. Those of you who laugh and scoff at the thought of chemtrails do not surprise me a bit, arrogance and ignorance seem to go hand in hand these days. Please do your own research. The US Government exterminated Native Americans by the millions, even the peaceful ones, but if you want to believe that the Government is not enforcing Agenda 21 and ongoing genocide of it's own people in dozens of ways from GMO foods, to plastics, to cosmetics, to vaccines, to evil US experiments like the Tuskegee experiment, and many others, to chemtrails, to just about everything that major pharmaceutical companies sell, well God bless you, enjoy Disneyland, because if you havn't figured out by now that the US Government doesn't give a hoot about you by now, you have lost the ability to look up, or even see what is right in front of your face and think critically.

Thank you for the gratuitous drought mongering article. Ramona's is as different than Santa Barbara as the desert is from the ocean. Not that a business from South Carolina would know this, or that we just had 2 inches of rain on Easter.

Thank you for this interesting story.
I am glad Senor de la Guerra chose to recruit soldiers and fight for the Union cause. How shameful that the US Army treated them like slaves, digging ditches, and then incredibly sent them after Geronimo and the Apaches, which has nothing to do with the Civil War, with little or no supplies. To add insult to injury, Mr. de la Guerra is poisoned with mercury, which along with arsenic are the most toxic non-radioactive elements on earth.

The landlord and his attorney had no comment, probably because they are breaking the law by evicting poor families with too little notice in violation of ordinance 4444, and they don't want to further incriminate themselves. I am glad ordinance 4444 exists to keep carpet bagging developers from profiting off S.B. county resident's misery. Clearly, San Clemente resident Matt Platler is due a lump of coal in his stocking from Santa.
