There seems to be a lot of "trail improvement" by regular citizens going on lately. Why do people think it's their prerogative to go and "improve" the public trails. To me it's the same as some guy taking it upon himself to mow the lawn at a public park. It's not helping anyone and it's dangerous for everyone. And sorry Mr. Ford, but the Montecito Trails Foundation is one of the worst culprits.

Dale Francisco said it! "We as a city can't allow this mass law breaking to go forward." Hahaha! Does this mean Fiesta is cancelled? Like you make a difference city council members. It's a happy bike ride! Let it be!

What nearby neighbors? I would think the SB Horticulture Society and the Cactus and Succulent Society are exactly the kind of organizations this west downtown neighborhood should be trying to keep happy. Not driving away. Is P & R worried because these gardening societies aren't stabbing anyone?

Those beach houses really are close together. I'd want a little privacy too. The Costner house is quite amazing. Not huge by any means but gorgeous. The "periscope" window in the back bedroom is fun. I feel lucky to have had to the chance to walk through this house several years ago.

It makes no sense to me to build low income housing in an area where people have to rely on a car to leave the house. The one bus line that services Veronica Springs Rd goes to La Cumbre in one direction and downtown after going by Hendrys Beach and City College in the other. It's not going to get most people to work or help them run errands. They will have to drive. A lot.

I am a big fan of alternative energy production and I also think that wind farms are pretty cool looking. But wind farms are not as benign as most people think. They produce turbulence and "wind shadows" that have the capability of changing weather patterns and ground temperatures much the same way a mountain range does.

I hope Caruso will take a close look at those awful kiosks and the overly aggressive sales people working them. I often walk around Paseo Nuevo rather than through it because I'm sick of being accosted by sales people every 15 feet. I don't want a free sample and I certainly don't want them to touch me.

I could justify giving up a traffic lane on multi-lane one way streets downtown for a designated bike lane. De la Vina, Chapala, Anacapa, and Santa Barbara St.s don't work all that well for cars. They don't work at all for bikes. And if they worked for pedestrians we wouldn't be putting in the ridiculous bulb outs.

I'm all for safer streets for biking. I like biking around town. My first suggestion is to take out all the bulb outs! They make riding a bicycle scary.
