Millions are squandered at a time of budget cutting, yet no one at the County is in danger of losing their job due to incompetence. I guess incompetence is not a firing offense to the County? Or an excuse to lower salaries?
I'm glad they got rid of the redevelopment agencies because if this is how they are going to waste taxpayer money, the less they have of it, the better.

I know it's hard to have sympathy for a lawyer, but Barry was really helpful when DAWG was getting kicked out of the County Animal Shelter and helped them to get a lease from the County for their facilities that they have next door.
So even if he is an adversary in a lot of things, he was a good ally to homeless dogs in this case.

Just to remind the letter writer, on the day that Darlene was put down with Ms. Reed's consent, Darlene was featured as k-9's adoptable pet of the week in the Independent's Pet Section. Why was this vicious unadoptable dog being advertised for adoption and/or kept alive for 2 yrs after she went over a 6-ft fence? Because many volunteers, myself included, had nothing but positive interactions with her and the only reason we didn't take her is that we have our quota of dogs at our houses. There are many examples of dogs that have had incidents at the shelter but have gone home and been great dogs for families.RIP Darlene, and may your death help some of the other dogs at the shelter.
