I suspect that if Lois Capps had chosen to intervene in this business, those knocking her for not taking a stance would instead be dumping on her for sticking her nose into this fracas.

BTW, when Walter O'Malley moved the Dodgers to L.A. he wanted to set up his own channel for Dodger games in order to milk even more money from the fans. Truly a man ahead of his time!

The police are well trained and qualified in using firearms, and practice to keep their edge. Nevertheless, even with their training and practice, police officers have been known to gun down innocent bystanders in the heat of exchanging shots against the bad guys. If experts can hit the wrong targets, how much more is the collateral damage going to be when you have well-meaning but untrained folks blasting away?

Ah, yes, the usual plaints about public service union money going in to corrupt the system. Only it isn't made quite clear what races SEIU triumphed in. Is it possible that all of Botany's choices went down in flames because of the union? I'm a former member of SEIU Local 620, and I never realized we had such power!
