One of the wonderful experiences of growing up in Santa Barbara was visiting local beaches all year around. It was especially wonderful to play and swim on warm summer days here. To be charged to visit our public beaches is totally wrong.
Years ago, in the city of Santa Barbara, they started charging for parking at the beaches. It sickens me to drive by East Beach on a warm summer day, and see the lots empty because the locals don't want to pay parking. It's such a waste to me to see them empty except on July 4, or at other special events. When I go to the beach, I'd rather walk for blocks ouy of principal, than to pay for parking to visit this beautiful natural resource that should be free for everyone to enjoy.
Please don't do the same thing at our county beach parks.
