Tracy Farhad elected to serve as 2013-14 President of California’s Central Coast Tourism Council

Tracy Farhad, Exeuctive Director of the Solvang Conference & Visitors Bureau (SCVB) pictured above, has been elected to serve as the 2013-14 President of California’s Central Coast Tourism Council (CCTC); a non-profit group comprised of more than 240 member organizations, businesses and individuals committed to enhancing public and travel industry awareness of the region–stretching along a spectacular 300-mile area of unspoiled coast encompassing Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Monterey Bay regions. For complete information, visit www.TourTheCentralCoast.com CTTC was founded in 1985 and is one of twelve regional destination marketing organizations that is part of the state-wide Visit California tourism marketing organization.

Farhad served as Vice-President of CCTC in 2011-12 and president in 2012-13 and hosted the group’s annual retreat in Solvang in February 2012 with over 60 guests, one of the highest attendance in the group’s history. Previously, she served on the CCTC board of directors from 2007 to 2011. Farhad has worked as the Executive Director of the Solvang Conference & Visitors Bureau since 2005 and was instrumental in organizing the 2011 Solvang Centennial Celebration events, the Solvang Heritage Walk and gaining Solvang the designation of a Preserve America Community.

Prior to joining the Solvang CVB, Farhad served as the Membership & Special Programs Manager for the Santa Barbara Conference & Visitors Bureau and Film Commission from 2001-2005. Born in Cincinnati and raised in Miami, Farhad has traveled extensively worldwide. She currently makes her home in Santa Ynez Valley with her husband and son; and in her limited free time, enjoys sharing outdoor adventures with her family.
