Wow it's a shock to Watson and his gaggle of "poll-watchers" that Isla Vista has a high number of provisional ballots cast? Maybe he should get to know a constituency before he decides to disenfranchise it Pappass-style. Or maybe they could have spent their "poll watching" energy knocking on a few doors exclaiming the virtues of a guy who decries government spending, outside of his military earmarks of course.

Or like how Rand Paul, the Tea Party darling, earns half his income as a doctor off fat and unhealthy Medicare patients in Kentucky. No one in either political party is for smaller government. Republicans/Tea Baggers are just for smaller government for those outside of the White Boys' Weapons Club. Go Lois! Bring home the bacon and beat these hypocrites.

All these plans sound fine, but I'm concerned about where the new parking will be located? Also, will parking still be free? Approx. how many parking spaces will be left at the beach and approx. how many spaces will be off-site at a new location? I've previously heard about some kind of water taxi, what exactly does that mean? Leaving these details out/not being clear makes me have reservations about plan 2.0, so I hope proponents of the plan are clear in their answers to these questions and others that community members have.

at least IV hasn't been stuck with the Social Host Ordinance. These students doth protest too much.
Find a sponsor! If it's such a necessary party that is so near and dear to students' hearts, then students ought to use their energy to find a sponsor instead of wrongly screaming obscentities at the BOS. Also, stop crying that this is an abuse of public process....IV now has a supervisor that not only has an office in IV, but regulalry holds open office hours.....you've had a year since last Floatopia to find a sponsor and plan this properly, don't blame Supervisor Farr because you couldn't get your stuff together in adequate time.
And as a final thought, students should have just picked up their trash....if it wasn't for all the litter last year, it probably wouldn't have come to this.

Because I just don't understand what role the Plovers play in the eco system, other than their eggs are food for skunks and they are cute little birds, can someone please explain it to me? Like I understand why we need to protect the spotted owl, they help regulate the population of rodents. So what is the job of a plover?

Oil companies should absolutely pay for what they are extracting. Even Louisiana taxes their oil companies for crissakes. And even if the oil companies passed the tax down to comsumers, I wouldn't mind paying extra money at the pump if it meant my state could function.
