First she claims she just wants a culvert put in because it's unsafe, but then she figures she might as well have the city pay for her bills. Quit looking for a handout !

You knew it was slippery before you crossed it, you decided it was a risk you were willing to take. Take responsibility for your life instead of having your lawyer-boyfriend find an easy way out. Now you're causing our cash-strapped city to waste money defending itself from your idiocy.

When will you grow up and take responsibility for yourself? You went for a bike ride, crashed, and now you're trying to blame someone else? You knew the risks you were taking. And without any health insurance (I also wish we had universal coverage), you were surely aware of the risks you were taking. You gambled and lost, deal with it. I hope this lawsuit is another gamble you lose.

Fiesta has been ruined by Police? Really??

From what I've seen, the police are happy to walk amongst the crowds until some drunken retard chooses to step over the line. At those times, I'm glad someone is there to control the alcohol-soaked masses.

The whole weekend is a mess. Just an excuse to drink and act like college kids, chalking it up to "Fiesta." Pathetic.

Of course, the city won't let it die because it brings in too much money. Whenever you can't figure out why somebody is doing something, just follow the money.

Can't wait to see how many lives are ruined this year.

Gangs were brought into this conversation along with Britney Weiler. Yes, she's a white girl, but she has gang affiliations. If people decided to ignore that and only recognize it as a gang problem once Latinos were involved, that's their own ignorance.

To the former gang member, if MOST gang members are good people, why is the majority powerless to change the gang image? It just doesn't add up. If MOST don't want to bang and fight and cause trouble, why don't they push the "bad apples" out? I imagine the "bad apples" are usually the ones higher up, calling the shots. But the time is past due for individuals to take responsibility for action. You're a perfect example: gang members can get out. So quit making excuses for the followers that won't stand up and be a good person. The truth is if they participate in gang activity, they are not good people. Once I see the westsiders organizing to support a non-profit, I'll think otherwise.

Hey, great idea! Leave the really drunk ones downtown to fend for themselves!

This place has the potential to be good, but their choice of cocktails on the menu is horrible. Everything is a sweet sugar-bomb. Find a nice bar with a real cocktail menu (hint: Not in SB) and just copy them.

The downtown scene as it is now (and everyone that is down there every weekend) is pathetic. Why in the world would anybody glamorize a dead-end career path? Santa Barbara will be a laughing stock just like Jersey Shore.

Weinstein has a thing or two to learn about running a business. The first is that a small business owner in the service industry needs to attend to his shop 24/7. I was in there over the weekend, was overcharged on my credit card and nobody could figure out how to correct it. Apparently the owner was out of contact. If you think you're going to sit back and watch the dollars flow in, you've got a big surprise coming. Two, the pricing is ridiculous. $8 for a crappy, fake-egg breakfast bagel? Nevermind, I'll go get a burrito next time. Three, the person behind me ordered and paid for a bagel with avo only to learn a few minutes later that I got the last of your avocados! Learn to buy supplies.

Poor execution. I bet they don't make the one year anniversary.

It's the classic way to deal with American criminals...don't try to solve the problem, just punish them more. Please can we figure out a way to prevent all these idiots from driving drunk?!?!

This guy is a monster, but he seems to be asking for help. Or maybe he knows he is a lost cause, but wants others to benefit from lessons that can be learned from him. I'm not saying he's a victim, but there has to be something to do to help people with issues like this rather than lock them up forever. I sure don't have the answer.
