Gangs were brought into this conversation along with Britney Weiler. Yes, she's a white girl, but she has gang affiliations. If people decided to ignore that and only recognize it as a gang problem once Latinos were involved, that's their own ignorance.
To the former gang member, if MOST gang members are good people, why is the majority powerless to change the gang image? It just doesn't add up. If MOST don't want to bang and fight and cause trouble, why don't they push the "bad apples" out? I imagine the "bad apples" are usually the ones higher up, calling the shots. But the time is past due for individuals to take responsibility for action. You're a perfect example: gang members can get out. So quit making excuses for the followers that won't stand up and be a good person. The truth is if they participate in gang activity, they are not good people. Once I see the westsiders organizing to support a non-profit, I'll think otherwise.

This place has the potential to be good, but their choice of cocktails on the menu is horrible. Everything is a sweet sugar-bomb. Find a nice bar with a real cocktail menu (hint: Not in SB) and just copy them.

The downtown scene as it is now (and everyone that is down there every weekend) is pathetic. Why in the world would anybody glamorize a dead-end career path? Santa Barbara will be a laughing stock just like Jersey Shore.

Weinstein has a thing or two to learn about running a business. The first is that a small business owner in the service industry needs to attend to his shop 24/7. I was in there over the weekend, was overcharged on my credit card and nobody could figure out how to correct it. Apparently the owner was out of contact. If you think you're going to sit back and watch the dollars flow in, you've got a big surprise coming. Two, the pricing is ridiculous. $8 for a crappy, fake-egg breakfast bagel? Nevermind, I'll go get a burrito next time. Three, the person behind me ordered and paid for a bagel with avo only to learn a few minutes later that I got the last of your avocados! Learn to buy supplies.
Poor execution. I bet they don't make the one year anniversary.

It's the classic way to deal with American criminals...don't try to solve the problem, just punish them more. Please can we figure out a way to prevent all these idiots from driving drunk?!?!

This guy is a monster, but he seems to be asking for help. Or maybe he knows he is a lost cause, but wants others to benefit from lessons that can be learned from him. I'm not saying he's a victim, but there has to be something to do to help people with issues like this rather than lock them up forever. I sure don't have the answer.

Ew, sad to hear they did not take care of the trash along the route. Hopefully they fix that.

Cushman's commercial states that he's been instrumental to the revitalization of State St. and downtown Santa Barbara...uhhhh, what revitalization? If his influence has led to the local stores leaving empty storefronts and a few being replaced by massive brand names, this is not the guy I want leading the city.
