Each year approximately one-half of the Department of Fish and Game (DFG) fines money collected in Santa Barbara County are earmarked for such distribution. Grants may not exceed $2000.

Grant applications will be considered only as they pertain to specific conservation programs such as: habitat improvement; wildlife propagation; water quality as it pertains to wildlife; monitoring fish and wildlife; assistance to the DFG; outdoor education; youth hunting and fishing programs; and other such fish and wildlife conservation activity.

Grant Applications must be submitted on an official SBCo F&G Grant Form that are available from Ruth Reverdy at the SBCo Planning Department or by e-mail at: sfoster@co.santa-barbara.ca.us. Requests must be returned by Thursday, October 27, 2011. Such applications should be e-mailed to: Chairman Bill Warnekros (warnekrosw@juno.com.) Official applications will also be accepted under the same format at the SBCo F&G Commission meeting of Thursday, October 27, 6:00 p.m., in the SBCo Planning Commission Hearing Room, Engineering Building, 123 East Anapamu Street. However, it is advisable to submit applications prior to that date so they might be reviewed by Commission members.
