I mean, how often do you walk down the street and see something that could potentially contain a bomb... or say jellybeans, sand, an xbox...anything?
Who makes the call when deciding if a cooler is a bomb or just a cooler? Is there other information that substantiates this idea?

"...is not here to establish an image of militaristic force in the community, but instead serves as a reminder that the city is protected..." ...by a force that is pretending that it's not militaristic.
Sounds like a classic façadeDo we really need something like this?!Won't we steer away from the ad baculum mindset policing so dearly clenches, and begin to see the progress oriented problem solving?Mediation, counseling, and community... Please!

“...if they wanted Mr. Sotelo dead, he’d be dead.”
That is a terrible defense.
They all had knives, he was on the ground, and (ignoring other possibilities/outcomes) they decided to spare him. Therefore, he's not guilty for attempted murder.Looks like they are scraping the bottom of the pan for a defense and coming up with weak BS.

Why not pose a bill that explicitly states that acquired tax dollars will be spent on scholastic endeavors?
The press box is rather absurd. However, as someone who has worked for the City College in the past, stagnant money is a no-no. To them, it's 'progress' as long as it's going somewhere...

We can't let this massive project happen.

In a perfect world.
P.S. We can't let this happen!

Have those against Non-European immigrants once stopped to think about what it must be like to live in such an impoverished way?Have they really put themselves into the life of someone with nothing and minimal rights? How promising must a place like the US seem?
What would YOU do if you had the chance to live a better life under those circumstances?Really, give it some thought.
How Orwellian are we going to get before this really spins out of control?!

Corporate exemption is disgusting. Why should they not have to be held accountable for their actions?
It is invidious the amount of power they ask for. Please be a part of not letting this happen to our area.

I feel that education and rehabilitation is the best solution.
We need to put the funding into researching ways that work instead of maintaining retributive conduct.
Besides, the constitutionality of the whole ordeal appears iffy...
