That all sounds nice but we know the true number he will be convicted of 1 year and the amount of time spent awaiting trial will amount to release time served...

I always distrust others until they prove otherwise, color, ethnic or religion makes no difference and after surviving the 9-1-1 disaster and "Beltway Sniper", here in our Nations Capital (The Pentagon is considered DC), only reinforces that distrust. I make NO exceptions, white, brown, yellow, black, your a possible threat until YOU prove you are not.
As for the President? I was the recipient of a Group email that very racist and promoted by Company executives working with in the Company was contracted with, this Group were all black and supported Mr. Obama (before he's election), to rid our Governments of ALL white people if he (Mr. Obama) were to win the election. This letter was signed off by nearly all black employees especially my own Senior Management. When I took it to the Company, all but my printed copy remained and the computers were purged. At that point I saw a different light of the poor highly protected black man, he was hateful as most whites and NO elected official of any other race was going to change the status quo, just alter the players. I had stopped voting after President Clinton so it was just another regular day for me while everyone else were hanging on that result that a Black man would be our next leader. As for the recent shootings, I remember Rodney King and the turmoil during the 90's, it's no different, just better social media coverage..

Don't you just love how Doctors can read the expiration date that is on the bottom of your foot but you can't when you look for it?

For Diane?

As my Captain use to say, "When the Press comes to see what we do, Admit Nothing / Deny Everything".

The only thing I am guilty of doing over in Afghanistan, was to sit with a Paint Can full of Watery Red Paint and through an Interpreter, threaten to paint some detainees with Pig's Blood (watery paint), before I take them outside and put a bullet in their heads so they never get into heaven.

I actually had the tape recorder full of Intell and made my Captain very happy with my Torture techniques...

Thank you, Mr. Hedden.

Your piece brought a tear to my old eyes of days long past and the taste of the Pacific in my mouth, the smell of the Pacific Ocean that the Atlantic can't ever touch.

I haven't picked up a board since I sold mine for gas money back in 1995 to drive out to my parents home state of Michigan. Now living in Northern Virginia across from our Nations Failure of a Capital, I am more homesick than before I read your story.

I'll sit in front of this glowing LED box and watch, "Above Santa Barbara", on CD of my hometown and near birthplace asking myself yet again, "Why the Beep!, did I leave that place of my soul for this soulless shell of a joke we call American Leadership"?

Oh, yeah, the endless pursuit of the Almighty Dollar...

The Federal Government always auctioning off Military surplus at this site link; http://www.unclesamsretailoutlet.com/ Either for the individual or a group.
For a Group exclusively; http://www.govliquidation.com/
Great place for Rescue Missions to pick-up bulk surplus to give to the Troops living on the Street and as more Wounded Warriors keep coming back and to the streets of Santa Barbara, this is an excellent site to keep them clothed and supplied until they return to civilian life and away from their personal wars...
