Back in the "good old days" when I was on Council, one of my various failed initiatives was to get the cops to do a bicycle patrol substation at the Casa Esperanza Homeless shelter. They weren't interested at the time, but that would have had an interesting effect on the area, as will the use of the Eastside Library. Good thing: good idea.

Stan Roden is the greatest choice to work with Dario Pini. Roden is careful, well prepared, assertive without being aggressive, and very very smart. The choice, whoever made it, is excellent.

The Council should undo this impropitious decision. Trade the roundabout for wasteful bulbouts, bricks, and silly moves like turning benches on State Street.
